'twas the Tuesday before break

Last year I waited until March to launch the tie and the concomitant poem. This year I broke the tie out for the last day before winter break, Music Assembly Day, the day my immune system caved.

No poem this year. Too much mucus gumming up my brain.

One of my students said today, "For a while, I forgot about your tradition. I was looking at one of your hideous ties, and thinking, 'What's wrong with his fashion sense?' And I ask someone next to me, and they say, 'He wears tacky ties every Tuesday and Thursday.' Oh, right. It's on purpose."

I think that makes it okay.
